Founded in 1971 by Carolyn Settles, Settles Associates is the oldest
practicing facility advisory and real estate strategic planning firm
in metropolitan Washington. The firm achieved prominence in the real
estate boom of the 1970s, serving major accounting and law firms and
associations. In the 1980s, the firm took on a "who's who" of corporate
America clients. Along the way in the mid 1980s, Settles Associates
became one of the first to diversify and respond to the exploding federal
government building boom.
